Synopsis
Love Parade unfolds as a procession of images navigating love in all its complexity and contradictions.
A silent exchange begins between two bodies, connected by the shadows of the past and an intangible future, they are striving to dialogue, fully embracing the only space they can truly inhabit together: the present moment.
Through moments of proximity and distance, convergence and divergence, their relationship is constantly shifting. Fleeting images surface and dissolve, opening spaces of possibility where tenderness, vulnerability, longing, and loss become inseparable.
The work explores how love is shaped by vulnerability and care, suspended between the desire for belonging and the fear of being left behind. From this evolving landscape, love expands beyond the individual. A multitude of voices gathers into a collective chant, an anthem of diversity and inclusion. A powerful whirlwind of movement becomes a liberating, wholehearted cry for universal love.

Love Parade unfolds as a procession of images navigating love in all its complexity and Love Parade reflects, in its present unfolding, the struggles and battles that shaped past cultural movements, from the ballroom scene of 1980s New York, where queer minorities engaged in catwalk competitions as acts of identity affirmation and artistic expression, to the Love Parade events of 1990s Berlin, where rhythm and movement were acts of manifestation for peace, unity, and love without labels and restrictions.
In dialogue with these legacies, the work engages with bell hooks’s reflections on love as a political and relational practice, and turns toward our contemporary reality through the question: “Why are we still afraid to talk about love?” (bell hooks, All About Love: New Visions, 2000). This question opens a space of possibility for love’s return to the centre of human experience, beyond idealisation and conventional representations.
